Description
Pack your clothes and groceries and visit nature at its best. Enjoy majestic mountain views and phenomenal star gazing from the wrap-around deck. Hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing are available from the cabin door. Secluded within the National Forest at 7250 feet above sea level on the North side of the San Francisco Peaks, it is slightly cooler than Flagstaff, Arizona. The Eco-Hideaway is fully-self contained and "off-grid" (not connected to utility lines) and is a wonderful example of "green living". Electrical requirements are provided with solar and wind generating systems; rainwater is collected and filtered for house use, and heat is provided via propane fireplace and heaters. You will find that "off-grid living" is very comfortable after staying here.
Amenities
The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and serving sets for a minimum of 8 people. In addition, the kitchen contains 6 burner propane range/oven, small refrigerator/freezer, coffee percolator, toaster, crock pot, dish cloths, towels. Microwave is not available. Bath towels, washcloths and bed linens are included. Various books and board games are included as well. A Queen size bed, 2 twin size loft beds, full size futon and full size pull-out couch are available for sleeping. A CD player is available but TV is not.
Activities and Attractions in the Flagstaff Area
The cabin's property borders the Coconino National Forest (Peaks District), and is available for your enjoyment. Hiking, biking, skiing is accessible from the cabin's deck. The Arizona Trail is located approximately one mile away. ATV's, motorcycles, and 4 wheel drives are allowed on miles of Forest Service roads. Cabin is approximately 30 miles from historic downtown Flagstaff, 60 miles from Grand Canyon, 75 miles from Sedona, and numerous hiking and biking trailheads are located nearby. This very peaceful location is made even more spectacular with a beautiful view of the San Francisco Peaks and plenty of wildlife (elk, deer, antelope, coyotes, bobcats, hawks, eagles, etc.) visiting the property on a regular basis. Stargazing and photography is phenomenal. Several people stay here specifically to photograph the night sky. Cabin is located north of the San Francisco Peaks. With the arid atmosphere and no nearby light sources, the stars seem to leap out at you.

- $175 per night Friday, Saturday and some holidays.
